Position Overview We are seeking a full-time, in-person Consumer Protection Attorney to join our Chicago office. The ideal candidate will have at least two (2) years of plaintiff-side litigation experience specifically in consumer law under statutes such as the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, Credit Repair Organizations Act, and the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.

This is a litigation-heavy position with a focus on volume casework , settlement negotiations , and legal drafting . The role requires a hands-on litigator who can work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and who is committed to protecting consumer rights.

Responsibilities

• Manage an active caseload of consumer protection cases from intake to resolution
• Draft and file pleadings, discovery, motions, and settlement agreements
• Negotiate settlements with defense counsel and corporate defendants
• Attend court appearances, mediations, and case conferences in state and federal court
• Communicate clearly with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel
• Collaborate with the litigation team and maintain accurate and timely records

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and licensed to practice in Illinois (required)
• Minimum 2 years of consumer litigation experience on the plaintiff side
• Demonstrated knowledge of FDCPA, FCRA, CROA, and TCPA
• Strong negotiation and settlement skills, with proven results
• Ability to manage a high-volume caseload with attention to detail
• Excellent legal writing, research, and oral advocacy skills
• Professional, dependable, and driven by a desire to achieve justice for consumers
