Senior Continuous Improvement Process Engineer (Food Manufacturing)
Do you want to own the technology behind a high-performing manufacturing line?
Imagine this: a new product is launching, and you calibrate centerlines, guide the VSU team, and lead technicians through TPM tools to lock in performance from day one. If driving SQCDSM results while building people capability energizes you, this Senior Continuous Improvement Process Engineer role is your next step.
Why this role matters
You will be the line’s technology expert—responsible for process settings, Progressive Maintenance systems, and the R&M budget. You’ll strengthen our Daily Management Systems (DMS) by showing up at shift and line meetings, ensuring stability, and turning insights into action.
What you’ll tackle
- Partner with line leaders to achieve SQCDSM targets and maintain process stability through DMS rigor.
- Own the line’s technology, processes, and centerline standards; lead Progressive Maintenance systems and KPIs.
- Manage the Repairs & Maintenance budget; reduce R&M costs through effective breakdown analysis and improvement plans.
- Design and execute preventive and time-based maintenance plans; dedicate 50%+ of your time to building technician capability to run and maintain equipment.
- Act within the PM Pillar—own PM systems at the line and lead select systems at the department level.
- Collaborate with Asset & Reliability on system enhancements; drive change management and spares localization.
- Serve as site technology owner in regional/global technology forums; help benchmark and reapply best practices.
- Support VSU for new initiatives; be the SME for one component category and train PM-related topics across the plant.
Your toolkit
- Advanced AM (Autonomous Maintenance) Step 4 and Progressive Maintenance Step 3 knowledge.
- AM & PM execution, including BD (Breakdown maintenance) and planned maintenance, with TPM Phase 3 & 4 problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lead a role for the line, coach SWP owners, and apply PDCA to common opportunities.
- Capability to function as a Line Leader: set goals/master plan, manage IDPs, and coach performance and career development.
What we’re looking for
- 2+ years of experience in a related process discipline.
- Comfort challenging the status quo; strong cross-functional collaboration.
- Independent, results-driven mindset.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree required; Engineering preferred.
Preferred background
- Team leadership—motivating and engaging operators and technicians.
- Integrated Lean Six Sigma familiarity; Green Belt/Black Belt preferred.
- Measurement methods and statistical analysis know-how.
- Project management track record.
- Production, Process, or Continuous Improvement experience in Food Manufacturing.
- Knowledge of FDA and USDA regulations and requirements.
Schedule
- Monday to Friday, 7:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
Rewards
- Base salary range: $70,400.00 – $97,700.00; final offer considers experience, skills, education, and budget.
- Eligible for a competitive bonus with the potential for overachievement based on performance and company results.
- Benefits include health insurance; wellness and family support programs; life and disability insurance; retirement savings plans; paid leave; education-related programs; paid holidays; and vacation time. Some benefits have eligibility requirements; many are subsidized or fully paid by the company.
