Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – MS/Telemetry

Job Duration: 13 Weeks (Contract)

Shift: Night Shift – 3x12 Hours (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)

Desired Location: Rochester, New York

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) to join a pulmonary-focused unit for a 13-week assignment. The RN will provide comprehensive patient care for individuals with complex respiratory and cardiac conditions in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care to MS/Telemetry patients

• Perform phlebotomy and IV insertion (required competency)

• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias

• Administer and manage medications, including IV insulin and cardiac drips

• Provide care for patients with respiratory conditions and ventilatory support

• Manage central lines, PICC lines, and peripheral IVs

• Perform wound care, feeding tube management, and drainage systems care

• Monitor patients pre/post procedures including hemodialysis

• Maintain accurate documentation in EMR systems

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience

• Active RN License (required at submission)

• BLS Certification required

• MS/Telemetry experience required

• Strong skills in IV insertion and phlebotomy

Preferred Experience

• Experience in PCU / Stepdown / IMC / DOU settings

• Familiarity with EPIC EMR system

Required Skills

• Interpretation and management of cardiac dysrhythmias

• IV insulin protocols and insulin drip titration

• Heparin protocols and cardiac drip management (non-titration)

• Blood product administration

• Central line, PICC line, and peripheral line management

• Ventilator and respiratory support (BiPAP, CPAP, HFNC)

• Tracheostomy care and non-invasive airway management

• Chest tubes and drainage systems

• Wound care and wound vac management

• Substance withdrawal management
