About the Position

Familiarity with EPIC electronic medical records. Description: This role is within a comprehensive surgical room environment. The facility operates as a Level I trauma center. There are 28 beds available. Staff manage an average of 60-75 surgical cases per day. Common patient types include outpatient, inpatient, and trauma cases. Expected diagnoses include gunshot wounds, stabbings, transplants, general surgery, gynecological, urology, robotics, vascular, orthopedics, neurology, and open-heart surgeries. The hybrid room handles 5-10 cases per day. Pediatric cases constitute 20% of the workload, focusing on open-heart surgeries, appendectomies, and cholecystectomies. No liver or lung transplantation procedures are performed. Participation in specific donor cases is required. Necessary skills include the ability to scrub and circulate for relevant cases. Critical care experience is preferred. Orientation includes online training and hands-on unit integration. Weekend rotation and shift scheduling are part of the position. The operating room functions 24/7, with variations in staffing during weekends and holidays. On-call duties may apply, requiring specific response times.
