Mechanical Assembler: Machesney Park, Illinois

Our customer in Machesney Park, Illinois, is seeking motivated individuals to join their team. We’re recruiting Mechanical Assemblers to work full-time on 2nd shift. As a Mechanical Assembler, you will be responsible for assembling product components while following blueprints and quality standards to ensure finished units meet inspection requirements.

Responsibilities of the Mechanical Assembler:

• Clean and prepare materials for assembly.
• Perform manual material handling.
• Cut insulation, bolt components, and caulk units.
• Assemble plenums within the product line.
• Read and interpret blueprints and use a tape measure accurately.
• Operate forklifts as needed.
• Use power tools while following all print and quality standards.
• Work at heights using ladders and scissor lifts.
• Ensure all completed work passes inspection.

Mechanical Assembler Requirements and Qualifications:

• Primary education required.
• 0–3 years of experience in a manufacturing setting or related field.
• Basic measuring and mechanical skills.
• Ability to read English.
• Ability to stand for 10+ hours, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, and bend as needed.
• Ability to frequently lift 10–25 lbs. and exert up to 10 lbs. constantly.
• Ability to work in high noise environments with exposure to dust, fumes, oils, and moving equipment.
• Ability to monitor machine sounds to identify issues.
• Visual acuity required for reading measuring instruments.
• On-the-job training provided as specified in the Employee Training Record/Summary.

Pay for Mechanical Assembler: $21.85/hour
