Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Clerk to support our Accounting Department on a part-time basis (15-20 hours a week) at our Collinsville office. The ideal candidate will assist with daily accounting operations, including credit card reconciliations, freight bill processing, invoicing, and accounts receivable support. This position offers flexible hours and a collaborative work environment.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile company credit card statements and ensure accurate coding of transactions
• Process and verify freight bills and related documentation
• Match purchase orders, receipts, and invoices to ensure accuracy
• Maintain vendor records and ensure compliance with company policies
• Respond to vendor inquiries, research/resolve billing discrepancies and disputes
• Provide backup support for Accounts Receivable, including posting payments and maintaining customer accounts
• Assist with data entry, filing, and general accounting tasks as needed
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial accuracy and efficiency

Requirements

• Previous accounting or bookkeeping experience preferred
• Basic understanding of general accounting principles
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (experience with ERP systems a plus)
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
