About the Role

MedOp Solutions is partnering with a hospital in Elmhurst, Illinois to hire an experienced Interventional Radiology (IR) Technologist for a 3-month contract assignment.

This role is ideal for a seasoned IR Tech with strong vascular and peripheral vascular (PV) experience , including pulmonary embolism (PE) procedures , who is comfortable working in a fast-paced procedural environment. Candidates must have prior travel experience , with at least one completed travel contract, and be able to respond promptly for on-call vascular coverage.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist physicians during interventional radiology and vascular procedures

• Support IR/PV/Vascular cases, including pulmonary embolism (PE) interventions

• Prepare procedure rooms, equipment, and supplies prior to cases

• Scrub and assist during image-guided procedures while maintaining sterile technique

• Operate and troubleshoot interventional radiology imaging equipment

• Ensure patient safety and proper positioning throughout procedures

• Accurately document procedures and patient care in the electronic medical record

• Participate in required on-call coverage for vascular cases

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2+ years of recent Interventional Radiology experience required

• Prior travel experience required (at least one completed travel contract)

• Strong experience in IR, Peripheral Vascular, and Vascular procedures , including PEs

• Illinois state license required

• CPR and ACLS certifications required

• Ability to work independently in a high-acuity procedural setting

• New graduates not accepted

On-Call Requirements

• On-call coverage required for IR/Vascular services

• Approximately 10–12 on-call days per month

• 30-minute response time required

• Call-back minimum: 2 hours

• Weekend call only when scheduled for on-call coverage

• Holidays: As needed

• Orientation start: Any day of the week

• Credentials due: Thursday prior to start date

  • Updated resume

  • One complete reference within the last year (from a supervisor)

  • Skills checklist

  • Illinois license verification

  • Detailed experience summary covering IR/PV/Vascular and PE procedures

  • Confirmation of at least one completed travel contract
