Senior Lead Press Operator

Graphicsland is an independently owned, profitable and growing e-commerce company that specializes in custom printing of stickers, product labels, and wide format posters. Our brands MakeStickers, PosterNerd, and InkWave handle hundreds of thousands of custom orders every year, helping small businesses, creators, and researchers look professional, grow their audiences, and share their ideas with the world. We're looking for a Senior Lead Press Operator to join our production facility in Tinley Park, IL.

The Senior Lead Press Operator is responsible for overseeing HP Indigo press operations, with a focus on exceptional color management, workflow optimization, and equipment maintenance. This role requires a high level of technical expertise, including advanced color theory, leadership in training team members, and collaboration with production management to achieve quality, efficiency, and operational excellence.

This is a full-time position Monday-Friday 8:30 am - 5 pm
$35/hr

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate HP Indigo 6K digital press to produce jobs as scheduled.
• Perform routine equipment maintenance, troubleshoot print quality issues, and make necessary adjustments.
• Load and manage media, inks, and other consumables to keep production running smoothly.
• Conduct quality checks on printed materials to ensure color accuracy, registration, and printing meet company standards.
• Ensure color accuracy among available presses.
• Train and mentor new press operators.
• Work closely with production and prepress teams to resolve file issues.
• Follow all company safety protocols, housekeeping procedures, and operational guidelines.
• Support workflow improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste.

Qualifications & Skills:

• HP Indigo Level 2 Certified Operator - Level 3 Operator is a plus
• HP Indigo color optimization training
• 3-5 years of previous experience operating HP digital printing equipment
• 2-3 years of previous leadership experience
• Strong knowledge of substrates, adhesives, and specialty materials such as BOPP, PET, and metallic stocks
• Experience with a spectrophotometer and color measuring tools is a must
• Advanced understanding of color theory
• Ability to read and interpret press output to achieve quality standards
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with tight deadlines
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management
• Above-average computer experience and RIP understanding
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
