What the day will look like
In this role, you will develop PathWise life insurance regulation library, support the consulting services provided by PathWise Solutions Group (PSG) to its North American clients, primarily located in the United States and Canada. The core responsibilities include demonstrating the PathWise platform to potential clients, migrating client’s current financial models into PathWise and/or designing new models and processes within the system, and creating and maintaining processes. You will also run operations on the virtual private cloud (VPC) provided and serviced by PSG for its clients.
Role Responsibilities :
- Create insurance liability models and process workflows, focusing on reserve and capital calculations for US and Canadian companies based on appropriate regulatory standards.
- Participate in the expansion of PathWise functionality as the need arises or as requested by clients
- Support the development of models and processes for companies moving into PathWise.
- Troubleshoot issues as they arise during PathWise migrations, focusing on providing a strong initial user experience.
- Participate in industry, academic and internal research projects
- Develop and deliver presentations on emerging issues pertaining to the insurance industry and the financial services industry
Skills and experience that will lead to success
- 10+ years of demonstrated abilities in the life insurance industry in a pricing/hedging/valuation role working with financial guarantees embedded in life insurance products
- Knowledge of US and Canadian reserves and capital requirements for the life insurance industry. Also, covering products such as Indexed and Variable Annuities (Segregated Funds), ULSG, and traditional life insurance products
- Knowledge of general insurance products for liability modeling purposes
- Understanding of financial assets including derivatives
- Knowledge of object oriented programming concepts (Python programming experience preferred)
- Member of Canadian Institute of Actuaries or Society of Actuaries preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Finance, Business, a related field, or equivalent years of industry experience.

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $170,000 to $200,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location.
This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon’s annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
