Powder Coat Supervisor
Job Overview
Join a growing precision manufacturing team as a Powder Coat Supervisor on the first shift (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, Monday–Friday). This hands-on leadership role oversees daily operations on the powder coating line, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. The supervisor will train and guide a crew of 13–20 employees, monitor coating quality, and help maintain on-time production of high-spec metal components for a variety of customers.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate daily workflow for the powder coating department.
Train, coach, and evaluate team members to ensure safe, efficient operation.
Verify line start-up and shutdown procedures are followed properly.
Oversee loading/unloading of parts and confirm correct masking and plugging.
Inspect part quality and finish per paint-class and customer standards.
Maintain communication with production, quality, and management teams.
Troubleshoot coating equipment and workflow issues to minimize downtime.
Ensure packaging, labeling, and inventory movement meet customer specs.
Promote a “zero-defect” mindset and drive continuous improvement.
Enforce safety and housekeeping standards in compliance with OSHA and company policy.
Required Qualifications
2–3 years of** **powder coating operations and hands-on application experience.
2–3 years of supervisory or lead experience, overseeing at least 8–12 employees.
Strong communication, organization, and computer skills (email, ERP use).
Ability to read, write, and communicate in English for safety and quality documentation.
Ability to lift up to 35 lbs, stand for a full shift, and work in a production setting.
Preferred Qualifications
Forklift experience and familiarity with conveyor or batch-oven coating systems.
Prior experience using ERP or scheduling software.
Exposure to OEM or ISO 9001 quality standards.
Compensation & Benefits
Pay: $31–$40/hr depending on experience (equivalent to $65K–$85K annualized).
