Barista

Schneider Deli recently opened our second location in Lincoln Park , and we are looking for committed, enthusiastic hospitality professionals to build our opening team around. The ideal candidate is dedicated, flexible, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment. To open, we are prioritizing applicants with full-time availability who want to learn and grow with us for the long haul!

Our  Baristas  are responsible for preparing and serving all coffee, tea, and other non-alcoholic specialty beverages according to the deli's recipes and quality standards. The Barista will also fill in other Front of House positions as needed over the course of a shift.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare all espresso-based drinks, brewed coffee, and specialty teas consistently and efficiently.
• Operate and maintain coffee equipment, including espresso machines, grinders, and brewers, ensuring they are clean and functioning properly.
• Create new and exciting beverage offerings for our Jewish deli concept.
• Maintain inventory of coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other necessary supplies, communicating needs to the management team.
• Ensure the coffee station and preparation area are clean, organized, and sanitary throughout the shift.
• Accurately process beverage orders and payment transactions at the bar.
• Provide friendly and efficient service to customers picking up beverages.
• Stay up-to-date on new coffee trends and techniques as directed by management.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years previous barista experience
• Knowledge of different coffee roasts, beverage preparation methods, and equipment maintenance.
• Ability to work standing for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a high-volume environment.
• A current food handler's certificate.
• Must be available to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
