Job Overview And Responsibilities

The Contract Strategy branch of Airframe Heavy Maintenance at United Airlines is responsible for sourcing best available MRO services and developing/ managing relationships with third-party providers with the objective of reducing waste, total cost and risk to the company while improving levels of quality, service, and technology.

The Contract Strategy Senior Analyst will support internal stakeholders with strategic initiatives, including, but not limited to contract reviews, supporting strategic sourcing events such as market research/analysis, process improvements, and system and tools updates/improvements. The goal of these initiatives is to capture real total cost of ownership (TCO) savings and drive process efficiencies. Collaboratively developing a consistent approach to managing third-party risk will be a key part of this role.

  • Manage capacity sourcing process across various commodities with detailed external supply market analysis, internal demand assessment, short- and long-term analysis with detailed financial modeling, and supplier evaluation scorecards
  • Develop power-point presentations summarizing recommendations for leadership
  • Collect and analyze data and stakeholder feedback to be used for the development of risk-based supplier segmentation criteria and treatment strategies/frameworks for each tier of suppliers by category
  • Drive innovative approach for an enterprise-wide Supplier Management tool selection and roll-out
  • Improve accuracy of an enterprise-level spend forecast
  • Manage customized reporting from Supplier diversity analytics, Senior leadership dashboards, etc.
  • Develop custom dashboards and reporting tools to support specific categories
  • Manage development of procurement function metrics using Coupa Analytics and develop ongoing reporting capabilities for Global Procurement leaders
  • Develop knowledge and expertise in a spend category as needed; Drive savings by working with category manager while ensuring user needs are met
  • Develop & manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Support ad-hoc analytics requests from leaders in the Global Procurement organization


Qualifications

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Finance, Engineering, Business Administration, Economics, Statistics or another business-related field or equivalent experience
  • 2 - 3 years of Procurement, Sourcing, Supply Chain, Analytics, and/or Finance experience
  • Highly analytical with excellent problem-solving skills
  • Strategic mindset
  • Excellent oral and written communication and people skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Basic knowledge of strategic sourcing, contract terms, and/or labor services
  • Organized, detail-oriented, thorough, and professional
  • Up to 25% travel
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position


What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Master's degree
  • Direct knowledge and understanding of technical billing and invoicing, prior MRO experience
  • Knowledge of Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) concepts and strategic Procurement process
  • Proficient in Advanced Excel (Macros), SQL, Python, etc.
  • Experience in data visualization tools such as Spotfire, Tableau, Power BI


The base pay range for this role is $79,800.00 to $103,966.00.

The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
