Environmental Health & Safety Specialist (EHSS1):
Strategic Planning Services for Environmental Compliance
- Develop plan and initiate discussions with HR and functional teams on training needs
- Support Quality Environmental Team with Environmental legal updates
- Support HR with communication to sites relevant EHS requirements as legislation changes
Specialized Services
- Ensure compliance to NFPA standards that are specifically focused on the powder coating industry by evaluating environmental performance and compliance to the regulations and acting as needed.
- Maintain the list of laws and report compliance obligations and results of compliance monitoring to top management.
- Implement and control fire and explosion protection devices, equipment and processes.
- Stay up to date on all standards, regulations, codes and procedures for fire and explosion protection.
- Implement training programs and procedures specific to fire and explosion protection.
- Implement and monitor combustible dust and combustible metals control programs.
- Monitor and evaluate training competency of workers.
- Noise assessments using sound level meters to implement and comply with hearing conservation program.
- Conduct personal air sampling using threshold limit values and equipment.
- Responsible for Respiratory Protection Program.
- Perform respiratory fit testing.
- Lead chemical exposure control programs. Specifically, to toxic substances.
- Responsible for compliance to TIGER 7S and LEAN programs in terms of Health & Safety
Responsible for providing process training specific to :
- Onboarding health and safety training
- Emergency preparedness and response
- Lock out tag out policy and procedures
- Spill response, cleanup and containment
Ensure Compliance with Legal Requirements
- Research legislation and environmental laws, regulations and standards for TDC
- Serve as a liaison with external bodies
- Implement actions through training, orientations, meetings
- Participate in providing direction and ensure compliance with policies and procedures
Health & Safety Services
- Serve as Leader of the health and safety committee
- Participate in providing direction and ensure compliance with H&S policies and procedures.
- Handle health & safety communications for TIGER Drylac USA and work in conjunction with NA HS local representatives
Disability Management Services, in conjunction with People & Culture
- Ensure paperwork and reports for workplace accidents and injuries are initiated and completed by sites in timely manner
- Serve as liaison with external bodies
- Assessing return to work requirements
- Monitoring employee on return-to-work program
- Handling related administrative requirements, when needed
Training Services – Environmental Compliance and Health and Safety TDC
- Develop and conduct training or train the trainer modules, in conjunction with People & Culture
- Evaluate learning and training needs
- Liaise with managers in follow up and identify gaps
Hazard Assessment Services
- Anticipate, recognize, evaluate and control hazards
- Support incident investigations
- Conduct ergonomic assessments
- Conduct root cause analysis
- Industrial Hygiene assessments
- Emergency response programs
- Conduct worker exposure assessments
- Determine corrective and preventative action to be taken
- Prepare reports
- Monitor corrective actions
Conduct Audits
- Conduct audits for environmental, health & safety and 7S
- Objective audit system is used
- Participates in closing meeting with managers
- Reports prepared, when needed
- Monitor and communicate progress of corrective action
- Proactively communicate results with senior management
Liaise with External Legislative Bodies
- Serve as point of contact for environmental compliance (added)
- Co-ordinate external compliance audit requirements
- Other / additional tasks
- Interact with co-workers, peers and supervisors in a constructive, productive and cooperative manner
- Consider the safety and well-being of yourself and others
- Driving Full Responsibility and Advice Process throughout the organization
- Follow and live Liberating Organism (LO) strategies and principles.
- Follow the requirements for ISO 14001 and 9001 systems
- Support and promote TIGER’s “Great Place to Work” environment as per TIGER’s behavioral competencies and code of conduct
- Onsite - Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm
- Work alongside Production schedules (day, afternoon and night shifts occasionally as needed)
- Travel to other locations (Canada and Mexico) as required - up to 10% travel
- Required to climb stairs, ladders
- Light lifting up to 50 lbs.
