Your impact

• Manually machine custom parts for many pump types in a job-shop setting
• Produce impellers, wear-rings, bearing housings, covers, and seals to blueprint spec
• Read and apply mechanical drawings, blueprints, and sketches
• Operate horizontal/vertical boring mills and ID/OD grinders for precision work
• Measure and document critical dimensions with appropriate inspection tools
• Optimize setups, feeds/speeds, and methods for quality and efficiency
• Maintain and care for machine tools and equipment
• Follow Hydro shop safety policies and procedures
• Collaborate with Engineers and shop teammates to solve machining challenges

What you bring

• 5+ years post-training machining LARGE PARTS on manual machines in an industrial facility
• Comfort operating manual lathes and Vertical Turret Lathes
• Proven ability to hold 0.0005 in. or better on 3–10 ft pump shafts using a steady rest
• Solid math and geometry skills for angles, radii, and bolt circles
• Understanding of feed rates and how adjustments affect outcomes
• Expertise in setting jigs, fixtures, arbors, mandrels, centers, and clamps
• High attention to detail; manual dexterity; steady coordination and control
• Education: High school diploma/equivalent; technical or vocational machining training (Journeyman preferred)

• Job Type: Full-time | Expected hours: 40/week
• Pay: $28.00–$35.00 per hour (based on experience and skills)
• Schedule: 8-hour shift; Monday–Friday; Overtime
• Supplemental Pay: Differential pay
