Outpatient RN Job Details

• Location: Chicago, IL 60612 (West Side) – Illinois healthcare jobs
• Position Type: Locum Tenens Registered Nurse (RN)
• Setting: Outpatient Clinic
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (August 18, 2025 – November 17, 2025)
• Shift: Day shift, 5x8-hour shifts (09:00 – 17:30)
• Hours per Week: 40
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2000-$2050
• Patient Population: Neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, geriatrics
• Charting System: Epic (Epic EMR experience required)

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license (must be in hand at time of application)
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience in an outpatient, ambulatory, or clinical support setting
• BLS certification (American Heart Association preferred)
• Proficiency with Epic electronic medical records (EMR)
• Previous travel nursing or locum tenens experience preferred (first-time travelers not accepted)
• COVID-19 vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered)

Outpatient RN Responsibilities

• Rooming patients and recording vital signs for diverse age groups
• Performing blood draws, administering vaccines and medications
• Completing clinical forms and accurate documentation in Epic EMR
• Managing telephone triage calls and MyChart patient messages
• Handling prescription refills and prior authorizations
• Providing clinical support to physicians, residents, and nurse practitioners
• Delivering patient care for neonates, pediatrics, adults, and geriatric patients
• Collaborating with interdisciplinary healthcare team members, including interpretation services and unit secretaries
