Services specialist

Under direct supervision, performs set-ups, deliveries, cleaning and upkeep of academic buildings. Regular schedule is Monday through Friday 2:30 pm – 11:00 pm. Weekends scheduled on a rotating basis, dependent upon demand.

Salary Range $17.00-$18.00. This is the expected hourly range for this position. The actual hourly wage offered will depend on a candidate’s experience and education, and departmental budget. Essential Functions

• Completes routine and special set-ups and take-downs throughout campus.
• Moves furniture as directed.
• Receives outside deliveries and disperses according to direction.
• Performs custodial duties throughout campus, including arranging classrooms, cleaning and restocking lavatories, as needed.
• Assists other departments as needed.
• Maintains service equipment, ensuring its good condition and proper use.
• Shovels snow and de-ices steps and walkways as directed.
• Reports equipment and items in buildings that require repair.
• Interfaces with work order and scheduling software for up-to-date information regarding daily tasks.
• Completes assigned work orders and, when needed, generates new work orders.

Minimum Qualifications

• Willingness to work overtime as needed, including weekends.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Competence with technology, such as work order or scheduling software.
• Ability to prioritize and organize tasks.
• Ability to work independently and with supervision.
• Ability to solve problems that arise during the evening shift.

Preferred Qualifications Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

Employee is subject to both indoor and outdoor environmental conditions (temperatures varying from below 32 degrees to over 90 degrees) for periods of over one hour, subject to hazards such as proximity to moving parts, electrical current, etc., and involves heavy work exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly in order to move objects. Must be able to climb stairs and ladders and lift 50 pounds. Must be willing to work overtime, including weekends, as required.
