Cutter Operator

The Role: Master of the Press You aren't just pushing buttons; you are the pilot of a Bobst Cutting Press. You’ll be the expert responsible for transforming raw sheets into the high-quality packaging the world relies on.

• Precision Setups: Master the "make-ready" process—adjusting feeders, locking up dies, and setting strippers to prep for the next big run.

• Quality Control: Be the final line of defense. You’ll inspect loads and troubleshoot issues in real-time to ensure every sheet is flawless.

• Efficiency & Power: Operate heavy machinery and use electric hand trucks to keep the production floor moving at peak performance.

• Data Integrity: Keep the pulse of the press by tracking production stats, waste, and timing.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for press make ready: adjust press to accommodate for new product sheets being cut (set feeder, lock up die, set stripper, blanker, and delivery).
• Inspect quality of each load run: responsible for checking random sheets from each cut load to ensure for quality.
• When cutting problems are encountered, Pressman is to flag and isolate poorly produced materials (all defective loads are to be tagged). Pressman is to make proper corrections before continuing the order.
• Remove cut loads from press by use of hand truck.
• Maintain written records of production. Records of waste, production time, waiting time etc. are to be kept.
• Responsible for running press as efficiently as possible.
• Perform score bend readings.
