Accounting Specialist
Location: Des Plaines, IL
Compensation: $55,000 – $60,000 annually

The Accounting Specialist will play a key role in day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and month-end reporting. The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities
- Process and record daily accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
- Prepare bank reconciliations and assist with month-end closing procedures.
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure all financial data is accurate and up to date.
- Generate and distribute customer invoices; follow up on outstanding balances.
- Assist with payroll processing and employee expense reimbursements.
- Support the Accounting Manager with budget preparation and financial reporting.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Provide support for annual audits and tax filings.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and increased efficiency.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 2+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience preferred.
- Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar).
- Strong Excel skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Annual salary range: $55,000 – $60,000, commensurate with experience.
