Accounting Clerk – AP & Payroll (Part-Time, On-Site)

Location: Gurnee, Illinois
Schedule: 24 hours per week (on-site only)
Pay: $22–$25 per hour, based on experience

Position Summary:

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accounting Clerk to support one of our clients in a fully on-site, part-time capacity. This role will primarily focus on Accounts Payable and Payroll functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing of financial transactions. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of basic accounting principles, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process and verify invoices, expense reports, and payment requests

• Prepare and issue payments to vendors in a timely manner

• Reconcile AP transactions and resolve discrepancies

• Assist with bi-weekly or semi-monthly payroll processing

• Maintain accurate payroll records and employee data

• Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll and AP matters

• Support month-end closing activities related to AP and payroll

• File and maintain financial documents in accordance with company policies

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in accounting or related field preferred

• 3+ years of experience in accounts payable and/or payroll

• Payroll experience preferred

• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Additional Information:

• This is a part-time position (24 hours per week)

• On-site attendance is required; remote work is not available for this role

• No benefits are provided due to the part-time nature of the position
