Human Resources Generalist (FT) Location Elgin, IL : Human Resources Generalist- Elgin, IL. SureWerx is a national supplier of tool, equipment, and safety product lines for the Canadian and US markets. Our range of products include abrasives, air tools, hand tools, material handling, lifting equipment and safety apparel and products. Our USA headquarters is in Elgin, Illinois, the Canadian location is headquartered in Vancouver, Canada with six branch offices located in the major cities across Canada. We are seeking a Human Resources Generalist to support our employees in our Elgin, IL location. This role involves a wide range of responsibilities related to recruitment, employee relations, HR administration, and compliance. You will be an essential part of our team, contributing to the development and maintenance of our HR programs and processes. This position reports to the Senior Human Resources Generalist. Key Responsibilities: Recruitment and Onboarding:
  • Assist in the recruitment process, including job posting, resume screening, and coordinating interviews.
  • Prepares new employee offer letters, new hire packages, and completes new hire orientations.
  • Conduct new hire orientations and facilitate the onboarding process.
  • Maintain HR documentation, including employee files and records.
Employee Relations:
  • Act as a point of contact for employee inquiries and provide guidance on HR policies and procedures.
  • Assist in resolving employee issues and conflicts.
  • Support employee recognition and engagement initiatives.
Policy Administration and Development:
  • Ensure the fair and consistent administration of Company policies, procedures, and employee handbooks.
  • Assist in the development, documentation, and communication of HR policies, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and legal compliance.
Performance Management:
  • Assist with the performance management cycle, including performance reviews and feedback sessions.
  • Analyze performance data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Provide coaching and training to managers and employees on performance-related matters.
  • Maintain performance documentation and records.
HR Projects:
  • Collaborate on HR projects and initiatives, such as performance management, training, and development programs.
  • Assist in the implementation of HR policies and procedures.
  • Participate in HR-related audits and compliance efforts.
General Support:
  • Provide general administrative support to the HR department.
  • Assist with special projects and tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Completion of Undergraduate University Degree, Community College Diploma or equivalent Human Resources experience;
  • 3-5 years of HR generalist experience.
  • Strong customer service and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organization, time management, and administration abilities.
  • Exceptional professionalism, ethics, and integrity.
  • Effective communication and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in PC-based applications, including MS Office Suite and HRIS systems.
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.
  • Ability to adapt, learn, and collaborate effectively.
  • Passion for growth and teamwork.
  • Self-motivated, positive, and detail-oriented.
  • Flexible, creative, and caring attitude.
  • Strong work ethic, prioritization skills, and ability to perform under pressure.
  • HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is an asset but not required.
