About the Role

We’re looking for a Cook who enjoys preparing nourishing meals and creating a positive dining experience for our clients. Under the guidance of the Kitchen Manager, you’ll help plan, prepare, and serve meals while maintaining food safety standards and supporting an efficient, team-focused kitchen environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Preparing and cooking a variety of nutritious meals for clients
  • Accommodating special dietary needs and restrictions
  • Following all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations
  • Keeping kitchen and dining areas clean, safe, and organized
  • Engaging with clients during mealtimes to gather feedback and improve meal offerings
  • Receiving, organizing, and storing food supplies properly
  • Operating kitchen equipment safely and reporting maintenance issues
  • Maintaining accurate food prep and storage records
  • Responding appropriately to emergencies as needed
  • Attending staff meetings and trainings
  • Respecting client confidentiality and HIPAA standards
  • Supporting overall kitchen operations as assigned by the Kitchen Manager

What We’re Looking For (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Previous cooking experience in a residential facility, healthcare setting, or similar environment
  • Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and safe chemical use
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication, time management, and problem-solving skills
  • Professional boundaries and a client-centered mindset
  • Sensitivity to religious, cultural, and dietary differences
  • Knowledge of HIPAA
  • Food Manager Certification and Food Allergen Certificate preferred

Minimum Requirements (must-have)

  • Food Manager Certification and Food Allergen Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • CPR & First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Ability to pass a background check, drug screen, and TB test

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Comfortable using standard kitchen tools and equipment
