We are looking for a Per Diem PACU Registered Nurse to join our Downtown Chicago procedural team . This position is located at 361 W Chestnut St, Suite 200, Chicago, IL 60610 . The pay range for this position is $37–$42/hr and the hours will vary, but we ideally would like for this hire to work at least one weekend per month and 3-4 day shifts per week.

The Per Diem PACU RN is responsible for providing high-quality, compassionate surgical care across the perioperative spectrum, including pre-op, intra-op, and immediate post-op phases. This role collaborates closely with physicians, staff, and patients to ensure safe, smooth procedures and optimal outcomes within a fast-paced ambulatory surgical setting.

• Maintain clinical expertise in all aspects of outpatient surgical nursing

• Conduct preoperative assessments and introduce self to patient and family, confirming patient identity and reviewing the surgical process

• Manage patient care after, during, and after surgery, ensuring comfort, safety, and continuity of care

• Support surgeons intraoperatively by anticipating needs and ensuring sterile technique

• Provide immediate post-op care and monitor patients during recovery

• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary team members to coordinate complete patient care

• Document all care and observations accurately and timely in the EMR

• Perform all procedures in accordance with RN scope of practice and clinic policies

• Assist with additional clinical or procedural tasks as needed

• Current Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing

• BSN preferred

• 1–2 years of experience in an ambulatory surgical or procedural care setting preferred

• Current BLS/CPR and ACLS certification required

• Experience in fertility or reproductive health nursing is a plus

• Excellent critical thinking, organization, and multitasking skills

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a high-volume, fast-paced environment

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

This is a full-time position. Standard hours vary between 6:30 AM and 3:00 PM , depending on procedure volume and unit needs. Occasional weekend coverage may be required based on scheduling needs.
