Job Summary
Client is a leading Audit, Tax, and Advisory Services firm delivering innovative solutions across industries. As part of its Information Technology vision—focused on Application Modernization, AI, and Data—the firm is building a centralized Data & Analytics function under the Chief Technology Officer.
The Data Engineer plays a critical hands-on role in designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise-grade data infrastructure and pipelines. This position focuses on active development and data management, not oversight or support. The role supports firm-wide data integration, transformation, analytics, and governance initiatives.
This is a remote contract role collaborating with teams across the United States and Ireland; schedule flexibility is required to support cross-time zone coordination.



Must-Have Skills
Extensive hands-on experience with Informatica IDMC
Strong expertise in Snowflake
Microsoft data technologies including SQL Server, Synapse, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Databricks
Hands-on data pipeline development and data management experience



Key Responsibilities
Design and develop scalable data pipelines to extract, transform, and load data from multiple sources into enterprise data platforms.
Collaborate with architects, data scientists, AI engineers, and analysts to manage data as a strategic enterprise asset.
Integrate data from databases, data warehouses, APIs, and external systems while ensuring consistency and integrity.
Perform data validation, cleansing, aggregation, enrichment, and transformation to deliver high-quality datasets.
Optimize data pipelines and processing workflows for performance, scalability, and efficiency.
Monitor data systems, identify performance bottlenecks, and implement tuning, indexing, and caching strategies.
Implement data quality checks and validations to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and reliability.
Take ownership and accountability for maximizing the value of enterprise data assets and analytics solutions.
Support data governance, security, and compliance initiatives across the data ecosystem.



Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related quantitative field.
8+ years of overall experience in data engineering with strong exposure to data modeling, ETL/ELT, data integration, master data management, data quality, data warehousing, analytics, business intelligence, and governance.
Proficiency in programming languages including C#, Python, SQL, and Java.
Extensive experience with Microsoft data technologies: SQL Server (IaaS/PaaS), Synapse, Cosmos DB, HDInsight, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Power BI, and Fabric.
Experience with Informatica Cloud technologies (CIH, DIH, CDGC, MDM, Data Quality).
Strong experience with Snowflake and modern cloud data platforms.
Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including senior leadership.
Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify trends and drive data-informed decisions.
Demonstrated initiative, adaptability, collaboration, and commitment to continuous improvement.
Ability to work effectively in dynamic, fast-paced environments while balancing multiple priorities.



Nice to Have
Relevant technical certifications.
Prior experience in professional services or accounting firms.
Client-facing or consultative experience.
Experience working in a managed services provider (MSP) environment.
