Chamberlain Advisors is seeking an experienced Instructional Designer – eLearning & Training Development for a major U.S. airline and aviation organization. This position will support a high-visibility 2027 Dangerous Goods training initiative, designing and developing engaging, accessible, and effective learning solutions for employees across a diverse operational workforce.The Instructional Designer will develop eLearning, instructor-led training (ILT), and blended learning solutions using Instructional Systems Design (ISD) methodologies. This individual will work closely with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to scope learning needs, translate complex operational and compliance-related information into effective training, and develop polished digital learning experiences using Articulate Storyline/Articulate 360, Microsoft PowerPoint, image-editing tools, and video-editing technologies.This is a small, highly capable team, making independence and ownership particularly important. The ideal candidate is a self-directed instructional designer who can take an assignment from initial scoping through development and delivery, proactively ask the right questions, manage ambiguity, and produce high-quality learning materials without requiring extensive day-to-day direction.

What You Will Be Accountable For
- Design and develop engaging eLearning, instructor-led, virtual, and blended learning solutions supporting operational and compliance-focused training initiatives.
- Serve as a lead instructional designer on assigned projects, independently managing learning deliverables from initial scoping through final implementation.
- Develop interactive eLearning courses using Articulate Storyline and Articulate 360.
- Create supporting learning resources, including facilitator guides, participant/end-user guides, job aids, presentations, assessments, reference materials, and other performance-support tools.
- Partner directly with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to gather content, identify learning objectives, validate technical information, and translate complex subject matter into clear and actionable learning experiences.
- Facilitate and participate in design and scoping meetings to define business requirements, audiences, learning objectives, deliverables, timelines, and measures of success.
- Develop and edit graphics, images, video, audio, and other multimedia assets incorporated into digital learning experiences.
- Apply eLearning accessibility standards and best practices throughout course design and development to create inclusive learning experiences.
- Create and maintain professional training presentations and supporting materials using Microsoft PowerPoint and Word.
- Assist with maintaining, revising, and modernizing existing courses as requirements, processes, or content change.
- Develop knowledge checks, examinations, performance assessments, and evaluation instruments to measure learner comprehension and training effectiveness.
- Review evaluation and performance data to determine training effectiveness and recommend improvements.
- Perform quality reviews to ensure learning materials are accurate, consistent, accessible, user-friendly, and compliant with organizational standards.
- Manage multiple concurrent learning projects, prioritize competing deadlines, and communicate project status, risks, questions, and dependencies to appropriate stakeholders.
- Adapt quickly to changing business requirements and operate effectively in a fast-paced, operationally focused environment.
What Qualifications You Need
- 3+ years of professional instructional design, learning design, or training development experience; mid-level candidates with approximately 5–8 years of relevant experience are strongly aligned with the position.
- Strong hands-on experience with Articulate Storyline and/or Articulate 360 for eLearning development.
- Demonstrated experience designing and developing interactive eLearning courses from concept through completion.
- Experience applying accessibility principles to eLearning, including designing learning content for diverse learner populations.
- Hands-on experience with image/graphic editing and video editing for digital learning content.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint and Word.
- Experience developing supporting instructional materials such as facilitator guides, learner guides, job aids, assessments, and performance-support resources.
- Strong understanding of Instructional Systems Design (ISD) principles and adult-learning methodologies.
- Ability to independently scope instructional design projects, clarify requirements, identify deliverables, and establish realistic development plans.
- Strong written, verbal, visual, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational, prioritization, and project-management capabilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously while maintaining strong attention to quality and detail.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with limited supervision and proactively ask appropriate questions when requirements are unclear.
- Comfortable managing changing requirements and ambiguity while remaining creative, flexible, and solution-oriented.
- Strong judgment and decision-making skills.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship.
