Job Description
AECOM is seeking a skilled and experienced Substation Design Execution Project Manager to join our team. In this role, you will act as the Owner’s Representative/Project Manager, overseeing the design and pre-construction phases of high-voltage (HV) and medium-voltage (MV) electrical substations for large hyperscale data centers across North America. You will manage the design process from the substation basis of design stage through the issuance of construction drawings, ensuring seamless coordination between internal and external stakeholders.
This position requires a strong understanding of HV/MV substation design, electrical equipment and system modeling, and construction processes. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to lead matrixed design teams and manage client-approved engineering consultants.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and author detailed scopes of work for substation design and/or design-build contracts, securing alignment with internal stakeholders.
- Lead the proposal review process, issue contracts, and administer contract awards.
- Facilitate planning and kickoff meetings to ensure alignment among all project stakeholders.
- Oversee the design process, including conducting "page-turn design reviews" and equipment fabrication reviews at key project milestones (30%, 60%, and 100% design completion).
- Manage external design service providers and internal teams to create a shared execution plan for substation projects.
- Provide oversight of construction administration services delivered by external design teams to support construction activities.
- Ensure compliance with project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- 8 years of experience managing large-scale electrical infrastructure projects
Preferred Qualifications
:
- Professional engineering licensure
- Electrical Engineering preferred
- 4+ years experience working with data center / high tech clients and projects
- Strong expertise in HV/MV substation design and electrical equipment/system modeling.
- Familiarity with building construction and design processes.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively manage diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Proven ability to manage large-scale, complex projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with facilitating design reviews and equipment fabrication reviews.
- Demonstrated success working in a remote team environment

- Offered compensation will be based on location and individual
qualifications
. The expected range is $130,000.00 to $180,000.00 USD.
