Job Summary
Our client is seeking an experienced Instrument & Electrical (I&E) Reliability Engineer with 5–10 years of industry experience to work onsite in Big Spring, TX. In this role, you will serve as a subject-matter expert for the reliability, performance, and improvement of plant instrumentation and electrical systems. You will collaborate closely with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to ensure safe, efficient, and highly reliable facility performance.
Job Description
- Develop and implement reliability strategies for instrumentation and electrical equipment, including predictive and preventive maintenance programs
- Troubleshoot complex I&E equipment issues and provide advanced technical guidance to maintenance staff
- Analyze equipment performance data to identify trends, root causes, and improvement opportunities
- Support capital projects by specifying instruments, electrical systems, and reliability requirements
- Lead or participate in Root Cause Failure Analyses (RCFA) and implement corrective actions
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, electrical codes, and industry standards
- Optimize spare parts strategies, equipment lifecycle plans, and maintenance best practices
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance equipment uptime and plant productivity
Skills Required
- 5–10 years of I&E reliability engineering experience, preferably in refining, petrochemicals, midstream, or heavy industrial environments
- Strong knowledge of instrumentation, control systems, electrical distribution equipment, and reliability engineering tools
- Experience with CMMS systems and reliability methodologies (RCFA, FMEA, RCM, etc.)
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
Education/Training/Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related field
Additional Requirements
- Ability to work onsite full-time in Big Spring, Texas
Pay Rate/Salary
- Base Compensation: $180k/yr - $185k/yr (Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location.)
