The University of Illinois College of Medicine Peoria is a regional campus of one of the largest public medical schools in the United States. We are known for having small class sizes and exceptional faculty mentorship. This allows UICOMP students to excel under a rigorous curriculum. In collaboration with our hospitals and clinical partners, UICOMP Faculty members provide care to more than 45,000 patients each year. In addition, they contribute to medical education and training for more than 260 students, and more than 300 physician residents and fellows annually. UICOMP healthcare partners include Jump Simulation, a world-class leader in healthcare simulation and innovation, along with OSF Saint Medical Center, OSF Children‘s Hospital of Illinois and Carle Hearth Greater Peoria. UICOMP is also part of a R1 research institute with translational research focusing on Alzheimer dementia and oncology.

Position Summary

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Peoria campus of the University of Illinois College of Medicine seeks General OB/GYN physicians for full-time or part-time positions providing comprehensive health care in both inpatient and ambulatory settings, including actively participating in the educational and clinical training of residents and medical students. Our growing program can offer candidates a position tailored to your interests of providing OB/GYN patient care, teaching future physicians in the heart of the Midwest, and enjoying the benefits of a flexible work/life program.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care in obstetrics and gynecology, encompassing both outpatient and inpatient settings.

  • Actively participate in the teaching of residents and medical students in the context of clinical obstetrics and gynecology, fostering a culture of learning and professional development.

  • Engage in scholarly activities.

  • Contribute to departmental initiatives aimed at enhancing patient outcomes and healthcare delivery.

  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • MD or DO.

  • Board-certified or board-eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology.

  • Licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of Illinois.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to teach residents and medical students.

  • Experience or interest in research and academic leadership preferred.

The budgeted salary range for the position is $350,000 to $400,000 per year.

Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, while also considering internal equity.
