Schedule for the Registered Dental Hygienist (Alternates between Week 1 & Week 2):

Week 1: Monday - Thursday

• Monday & Tuesday: 7:25 AM - 5:30 PM

• Wednesday: 10:15 AM - 8:30 PM (9:45am on meeting days)

• Thursday: 10:15 AM - 8:30 PM

Week 2: Wednesday - Saturday

• Wednesday: 10:15 AM - 8:30 PM (9:45am on meeting days)

• Thursday: 10:15 AM - 8:30 PM

• Friday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

• Saturday: 7:30 AM - 2:30 PM

Responsibilities and Requirements of the Registered Dental Hygienist :

• Seat the patient and have the proper setup ready for the procedure. Build relationships with patients through active listening.

• Actively educate patients regarding their oral health and conditions

• Review and update the patient’s medical history, motivators, and concerns including blood pressure.

• Check the patient’s progress and record the results on the patient’s chart including previous incomplete treatment plans, oral cancer exam, TMJ exam, occlusal classification, comprehensive periodontal exam, and diagnosis.

• Take digital radiographs including vertical and horizontal bitewings, periapical, full-mouth series as well as film panoramic, bitewings, periapical, or occlusal as needed.

• Take intraoral photographs & Itero scans to complete records and aid in treatment planning.

• Scale, polish, and apply fluoride.

• Root planning as appropriate treatment choice.

• Maintain the appearance, disinfection, and function of the hygiene treatment room, sterilization area, instruments, and trays.

• Sterilize, oil, and sharpen the hygiene instruments, handpiece, and any doctor instruments.

• Continuously participate in CE to advance clinical/technology skills.

• Perio Maintenance or Prophy: 60 minutes

• New patients or Half side of SRP: 90 minutes
