Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Equipment Operator with experience operating heavy machinery including dozers, excavators, skid steers, front-end loaders, and forklifts. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, capable of performing routine equipment maintenance, and thrives working independently. This role requires a proactive self-starter with leadership qualities and a potential for managerial responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate heavy equipment including:
  • Dozers, Excavators, Skid steers, Front-end loaders, Forklifts
• Perform daily inspections and routine maintenance on equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation
• Diagnose mechanical issues and perform minor repairs or coordinate major repairs
• Maintain clean and organized workspaces and adhere to all safety regulations and company policies
• Manage equipment usage to maximize productivity and minimize downtime
• Assist with planning, coordination, and supervision of job site activities when needed
• Keep accurate records of equipment hours, maintenance, and inspections

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years of experience operating heavy equipment
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot and maintain machinery
• Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred but not required
• Forklift certification preferred (or ability to obtain)
• Ability to read and interpret site plans and work instructions
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Leadership experience or demonstrated potential for supervisory roles

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Work in various weather conditions and terrain
• Prolonged periods of operating equipment and performing physical labor
