Job Summary
The Extra Help Content and Design Developer will assist the project instructional designer by working with the A+ professional learning design and development teams to create innovative and interactive online professional learning modules.

The Autism Professional Learning and Universal Supports (A+) Project at Illinois State University assists the Illinois State Board of Education in addressing the significant behavior needs of children and youth with Autism Spectrum (ASD) and related behavior and communication disorders. Through a comprehensive approach encompassing professional learning, technical assistance, coaching, and collaboration, A+ has worked closely with school teams to enhance their capacity to effectively support students with ASD. The A+ project provides professional learning and coaching to educators using high-impact, evidence-based practices, and strategies to support individuals with autism and related behavior and communication challenges.
Salary Rate / Pay Rate
$40.00 per hour
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or 4 years experience using design and editing software tools
- Highly skilled in Adobe CC suite applications (specifically Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Premiere Pro) for graphic design, animation, and video editing
- Experience with Powtoon's and H5P, or a willingness to quickly learn and master these tools
- Strong creative and design skills with an eye for visual aesthetics
- Ability to flex between different types of projects simultaneously with differing priorities and deadlines
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

Extra Help employees may only work up to 28 hours per week for all University employment. Employees are only paid for hours worked and do not qualify for most benefits including health insurance and retirement, with Illinois State University. However, Extra Help employees are eligible to participate in the University's supplemental retirement savings plans (403b). Applicable retirement information is provided at the time of hire. There is no guarantee that working as Extra Help will lead to or secure permanent employment. In addition, extra help employees may only work up to 900 hours total during their employment.
