What You Will Do
Under administrative supervision, the Financial Aid Advisor Coordinator assists with administering benefits for veterans including Illinois MIA/POW, ING, IVG, VA chapter 33 and ROTC scholarships. Applies certain tuition and fee waivers and stipends. Assists with the Monetary Award Program. The Coordinator will assist with receiving and processing athletic scholarship agreements/contracts/change of awards while resolving overawards. Receives and processes aid cancellations, notifying students of right to appeal, handling appeal if applicable, canceling aid if necessary. Keeps current on NCAA rules/regulations. Answers financial aid questions on phones and counter as necessary.

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications
- Any one or combination totaling three (3) years (36 months) from the categories below:
- College coursework in any discipline, as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:
- 30 semester hours equals one (1) year (12 months)
- Associate’s Degree (60 semester hours) equals eighteen months (18 months)
- 90 semester hours equals two (2) years (24 months)
- Bachelor’s Degree (120 semester hours) equals three (3) years (36 months)
- Work experience coordinating office, business, or customer service/relations activities.
- College coursework in any discipline, as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:
- One (1) year (12 months) of higher education, student services, or closely related experience.

Illinois Residency Requirement: Pursuant to the State Universities Civil Service System, out-of-state candidates must establish Illinois residency within 180 calendar days of the start date for this position.
Illinois residency requires proof of a valid Illinois Driver’s License or state of Illinois ID Card. Failure to produce the required documentation within 180 calendar days is grounds for immediate separation.
