Overview:

A highly respected global manufacturer is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Designer to join its Engineering Automation team. This role is ideal for a hands-on designer who enjoys leading complex automation and machine design projects from concept through implementation.

You will play a key role in designing custom automated equipment, robotics integrations, and advanced production systems that support cutting-edge manufacturing operations.

Job Duties:

• Lead the mechanical design of automated equipment, machinery, and tooling

• Develop concepts, layouts, and design specifications for new automation systems

• Create and oversee detailed manufacturing and assembly drawings

• Support prototype builds, testing, and design refinements

• Manage engineering project timelines and cross-functional collaboration

• Conduct design reviews and implement improvements based on production feedback

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior designers

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives for equipment and automation systems

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)

• 5+ years of mechanical design experience in manufacturing or automation environments

• Strong experience with 3D CAD design (SolidWorks preferred)

• Experience designing automation equipment, robotics, or integrated machinery

• Ability to lead projects independently and collaborate across engineering and manufacturing teams
