As a Supervisory National Bank Examiner (Examiner-in-Charge), you will report and serve as an expert advisor to the DC and ADC for Midsize and Trust Bank Supervision on issues involving the bank population and matters of systemic risk to the national banking system. As a Supervisory National Bank Examiner (Examiner-in-Charge), you will: Assess emerging businesses and risks, new products or services. Support and provide OCC policy and program direction to staff. Work with other Midsize bank examiners-in-charge (EICs) and the ADCs in overseeing the Midsize Bank Supervision program, and develop systems and programs that focus on achieving OCC's goals and priorities. Serve as an OCC spokesperson with bank executives, officials of Federal and State banking agencies, and banking industry and legislative leaders, discuss matters of mutual concern, provide industry perspective, and promote cooperation on shared regulatory concerns Oversee the quality of reports of examination and correspondence for the assigned banking company and provide input to licensing and legal issues.

Requirements

This position requires that the successful candidate undergo personnel vetting, which includes a background investigation and enrollment upon onboarding into "Continuous Vetting." Enrollment in Continuous Vetting will result in automated record checks being conducted throughout one's employment with Treasury. The successful candidate will also be enrolled into FBI's Rap Back service, which will allow Treasury to receive notification from the FBI of criminal matters (e.g., arrests, charges, convictions) involving enrolled individuals in near real-time. This position requires a National Bank Examiner (NBE) commission reflecting the incumbent is authorized to sign Reports of Examinations (ROEs) for national banks and/or a Federal Thrift Regulator (FTR) accreditation reflecting the incumbent is authorized to sign ROEs for federal savings associations. Complete a one-year trial period (unless already completed). Complete a background investigation (unless already completed). Sign a statement that you are voluntarily leaving the competitive service for a position in the excepted service, if applicable. Travel overnight or locally on a frequent basis. Obtain and use a Government-issued charge card for business-related travel. File an Executive Branch Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE 450) and an OCC Financial Disclosure Form. You must meet the following requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of this announcement: You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the NB-V band level. Examples of specialized experience for this position include: Leading teams engaged in bank and thrift supervisory activities; OR Providing consultation to management on bank and thrift supervisory problems. AND Selective Placement Factor: You must also possess a National Bank Examiner (NBE) commission reflecting that you are authorized to sign Reports of Examinations (ROEs) for national banks; OR a Federal Thrift Regulator (FTR) accreditation reflecting that you are authorized to sign ROEs for federal savings associations. The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector, or through volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. This position is excluded from the bargaining unit. One or more positions may be filled in any of the locations specified above. Selections for duty locations posted will be made based on management needs. All locations may not be filled. This position is a Step 2 level position within the NB-VI pay band. Step 2 level positions are distinguished by additional job complexity, responsibility, and advanced skill levels required by the work.
