Export Compliance Manager (Lisle)
The Export Compliance Manager is responsible for overseeing and executing the company’s export compliance program, ensuring adherence to U.S. export control regulations and, as applicable, the export regulations of other countries. This role primarily supports U.S.-based operations, with additional responsibility for a limited volume of exports from Mexico and Canada, as well as significant deemed export activity involving Europe, South America, and Asia.
This position focuses on the day-to-day operational execution of export compliance requirements, including product classification, export licensing, restricted party screening oversight, and monitoring regulatory developments. The Export Compliance Manager also oversees key export operations processes to ensure compliant execution of export transactions and supports continuous improvement of the company’s global export compliance framework.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily export compliance activities to ensure adherence to applicable export control regulations and economic sanctions.
- Support export licensing processes and classification of products, equipment, software, and technology under relevant export control regimes.
- Monitor regulatory developments and assist in the implementation and maintenance of export compliance policies and procedures.
- Oversee restricted party screening processes and coordinate escalation and resolution of potential compliance issues.
- Manage export operations, including coordination with freight forwarders and oversight of export transactions.
- Review export filings (including AES submissions) to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance.
- Support U.S. export documentation requirements and maintain export records in accordance with regulatory retention standards.
- Assist with internal and external export compliance audits and support corrective and preventive actions.
- Develop and monitor export compliance dashboards and KPIs to track performance and risk.
- Standardize procedures and best practices across the organization to promote consistent export compliance.
- Provide training and guidance to internal stakeholders, including functional teams, expatriates, inpatriates, and third parties.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to support due diligence efforts, strengthen compliance controls, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5 years of import/export administration experience; or
- Master’s degree with a minimum of 4 years of import/export administration experience; or
- At least 8 years of progressive import/export administration experience.
