Position Summary

Amergis Educational Staffing is seeking multiple full-time Special Education Teachers to support K–12 students in Rockford, IL. These are self-contained classroom roles with flexibility in location, hours, and age group. Teachers will collaborate with school teams to deliver specialized instruction and support student success.

• Grade Level: Kindergarten through 12th grade

• Hours: 35 hours/week, Monday–Friday

• Start Date: November 20, 2025

• Duration: 1 year

• Pay: $55 per hour

• Sign-On Bonus: $1,500 paid during spring break, plus $500 at end of school year

• Travelers: Recommended

Responsibilities

• Provide special instruction and tutorial assistance to students

• Collaborate with general education staff and multidisciplinary teams

• Develop and implement individualized student programs and IEPs

• Monitor student progress and maintain documentation

• Participate in meetings, consultations, and professional development

• Comply with district, state, and federal regulations

Qualifications

• Valid state teaching certificate as required by state/district regulations

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university preferred

• Minimum of one year teaching experience preferred

• Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred

• CPR certification, TB/PPD clearance, and health certificate as applicable

• Compliance with all federal, state, and local employment requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age
