Assistant Professor of Electrical Engineering
Department: SCHOOL OF ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY
Locations: Moline, IL APPOINTMENT: Tenure-track appointment beginning August 2026 RESPONSIBILITIES: For appointment as assistant professor, the successful candidate will assume a range of responsibilities including (but not limited to): teach undergraduate courses in electrical circuits, analog and digital electronics, engineering probability, electromagnetics, signal processing, systems and controls, and potentially other multidisciplinary engineering courses such as electromechanics and mechatronics; supervise undergraduate research, design projects, and capstone design; contribute to student recruitment and retention; assist the program in maintaining ABET accreditation; serve on university, college and school committees; maintain scholarly and professional activities in the field; foster corporate alliances and other Quad Cities area economic development efforts. This is a nine-month full time tenure track appointment with the potential for summer teaching opportunities RANK & SALARY: Assistant Professor, 9-month appointment. $7,242 - $9,778 per month, commensurate with experience. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Earned doctorate in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Systems Engineering, or closely related field from an EAC-ABET accredited institution;
- Demonstrated record of distinguished teaching, research/scholarship, and service;
- Relevant professional work experience that supports the Engineering programs;
- Excellent interpersonal skills;
- Demonstrated research agenda.
- a willingness and the ability to teach a wide range of undergraduate courses;
- experience in curriculum development;
- student recruitment and retention;
- ability to work with multiple constituencies and promote community relations;
- have professional engineering experience;
- possess a PE license.
ABOUT THE SCHOOL: The School of Engineering and Technology represents a spectrum of disciplines that utilize technology to effect innovation and efficiencies in the applied creation of value-added products and related processes in the context of STEM and related educational programs. The school's engineering disciplines (General, Mechanical, Civil, and Electrical) are mostly offered through the Quad Cities Campus in Moline, IL. The Engineering Technology undergraduate program is offered in the Quad Cities and on the Macomb campus. The Construction and Facilities Management program is offered only in Macomb. The school also offers graduate programs of study in Engineering Technology and Instructional Design & Technology. The school serves approximately 250 undergraduate majors and 70 graduate majors. All Engineering disciplines are accredited by ABET. The Construction and Facilities Management program is in the process to attaining ACCE accreditation.
