Technical business systems analyst

Job Description

In the scope of the warranty transformation program, you will act as a key liaison between Global warranty and Caterpillar IT gathering and communicating business requirements related to the future warranty solution.. You will work with business partners to define objectives and methods related to warranty processes and will also provide day-to-day support to business partners, business managers, and directors in relation to product implementation, questions, and problems.

• Gather requirements from business units and translate those to programmers and developers.

• Confer with clients regarding the nature of the information processing or computation needs.

• Prepare cost-benefit and return-on-investment analyses to aid in decisions on system implementation.

• Interview or survey workers, observe job performance or perform the job to determine what information is processed and how it is processed.

• Coordinate and link the computer systems within an organization to increase compatibility and so information can be shared.

• Consult with management to ensure agreement on system principles.

• Expand or modify system to serve new purposes or improve workflow

Skills and Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required. MBA or other related advanced degree preferred.

• 5-7 years experience required.

• Previous similar experience as business analyst for the development of large and complex IT solution and be familiar with IT Development using Agile methodology as well as the various programming languages used at Caterpillar (for example : Java, Postgre SQL, AWS...).

• Strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills being able to explain conclusions to our business partners.

• Should be able to work with offshore teams and provide leadership.

• Knowledge of agile methodologies and the agile development lifecycle; ability to utilize formal agile methodologies, disciplines, practices and techniques for the delivery of new and enhanced applications

• Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, attention to detail and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work independently and manage one's time.

• Basic mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback.

• Knowledge of design techniques and principles involved in production of drawings and models.

• Knowledge of computer software, such as Visual Basic, Java, SQL, etc. Top candidate will have previous experience as a software engineer (in Java or similar).

• Off the shelf solution is a plus. (e.g. Salesforce is an example)

• Experience using Azure DevOps
