Job Description
This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule based in San Francisco, CA or Deerfield, IL.
FBIN (Fortune Brands Innovations, Inc) is looking for a highly proficient Sr. Test Automation Engineer / Lead Automation Engineer to help implement and drive our automated test efforts for our mobile SDK and API releases to partners. You will help to build test frameworks, build automated regression test suites and write tests for our mobile application SDK, API, and online partner portal. You'll work closely with Engineering teams to help discover and debug issues. FBIN’s mission is to make life simple and secure - you’ll make a direct contribution to helping make the connected home more secure.
Responsibilities
- Help drive decisions and vision about test automation strategies and test tools
- Create test automation scripts, write test code and perform code reviews
- Write white/grey box tests and automation scripts for the mobile application SDK, sample applications, and partner APIs
- Work collaboratively with Engineering to reproduce and debug issues reported by our SDK and API development partners
- Run automated tests against existing reference smart locks and NPD (New Product Development) projects
- Maintain FBIN device, mobile phone and test automation software and hardware
- Support distributed Engineering and test teams
- Mobile application SDK and Cloud/API test automation experience
- Experience testing wireless embedded systems or consumer electronics is a plus
- Constantly looking for ways to work more efficiently and leverage new tools and technologies, including AI.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field
- 8+ years writing test automation scripts and writing code
- Strong programming skills in the following languages: Python, Java
- Programming experience with SWIFT and Kotlin a plus
- Experience with tools such as Kibana, Postman, bit bucket
- Experience with Agile software development methodologies
- Working knowledge building test automation frameworks, tools, and infrastructure
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Experience using Robot Framework a plus
- Knowledge of CI/CD systems such as Jenkins or Concourse a plus
Additional Information
Fortune Brands believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is Hiring Pay Range: $105,000 USD - $165,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based sales incentive plan.
