Front of House Staff

We're looking for energetic and responsible front of house professionals who enjoy providing top notch service in a fast-paced food-focused counter service environment. Tortello focuses on artisanal handmade pasta, authentic Italian cooking and warm hospitality. This position can include on any given shift taking customer orders, preparing classic Italian espresso drinks and cocktails, running food & clearing tables, preparing delivery orders, and above all providing a warm, welcoming and excellent guest experience. As part of a small staff, you’ll have the ability to stretch and grow, especially as we grow our private event and catering business as well. The warmth of Italian-style hospitality is a must – we want guests to feel like they’ve walked into a little slice of Italy. You’ll pass on your passion and knowledge of our authentic Italian menu and products to our customers.

Essential Job Functions:

• Ensure overall customer satisfaction for dine-in and delivery customers
• Operate POS system to scan merchandise and process sales transactions
• Provide intimate knowledge of the fresh pastas to take home as well as the dine-in menu, package up take away items
• Run food & clear tables
• Perform barista duties
• Craft a handful of classic Italian cocktails as well as pour wine/beer
• Restock retail goods
• Run the floor to keep Tortello running smoothly
• Clean, maintain and organize work areas
• Meet all food safety requirements at all times

Requirements

• Must be available weekends and mornings
• Must be 21+ to handle alcohol transactions
• Able to work independently
• Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds
• Must be able to stand for up to 8 hours
• Strong communication skills
• Passion for high-quality goods, especially in food and beverage
• Punctual and reliable
• Previous retail, barista or customer experience is a plus, but not required
