Senior Director Manufacturing-Plastic
Reporting to VP, Manufacturing, manage the production activity to ensure the on-time manufacture of quality products. Oversee and support North American production. Continuous improvement and cost reduction are to be achieved by employing best practices across the plants to realize desired business results.
Production Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Direct all manufacturing activities to ensure plants achieve planned levels of production.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives and apply best practices to ensure achievement of cost per pound goals.
- Provide direction and support to minimize downtime of all equipment by measuring downtime, establishing root cause, and coordinating with the engineering resources to execute solutions.
- Provide direction and support to minimize setup time in thermoforming, die-cut, folding/gluing and changeovers through proper training and preparation.
- Establish and execute initiatives to maximize throughput and machine efficiency, continuously evaluating ways of surpassing standards.
- Establish and ensure execution against clear guidelines for the quality of raw materials and finished goods.
- Oversee and implement a system of training for all employees to ensure achievement of acceptable quality levels.
- Drive a culture of quality and high levels of customer service.
- Implement systems, processes and training to ensure a continuous and daily effort to comply with all safety standards.
- Ensure all production facilities operate with good housekeeping, maintaining a clean and organized manufacturing work environment.
- Foster a positive work environment through open and ongoing communications and an atmosphere of teamwork for staff which motivates and engages talent to achieve desired results.
- Coach, mentor, and provide performance feedback to direct reports and other key staff throughout the manufacturing organization.
- Continuously evaluate and execute a plan to ensure the availability of proper resources to accomplish the desired business goals.
- Develop and implement processes to optimize the efficient use of raw materials throughout the production process.
- Execute initiatives to increase the use of regrind in production processes.
- Execute initiatives to achieve light-weighting of products in the production process.
- Develop and implement initiatives to minimize scrap levels across the production processes.

- Bachelor’s degree required; a degree in engineering is preferred.
- At least ten years plant management experience.
