Key Job Details – Medical-Surgical RN

• Employment Type: Locum tenens (Travel Nursing Contract)
• Location: Urbana, Illinois 61801
• Healthcare Setting: Medical-Surgical Units (with float to Oncology, Orthopedic, Advanced Care, and ICU)
• Start Date: September 15, 2025
• End Date: December 13, 2025
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Nursing Shift: Day shift, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
• Hours per Week: 36 (3x12 hour shifts)
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2000-$2050

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum one (1) year of recent Med/Surg nursing experience
• Trauma 1 hospital experience required
• Ability to float to Medical-Surgical, Oncology, Orthopedic, Advanced Care, and ICU units
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ASN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Active Illinois RN license in good standing
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association)

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality patient care in Medical-Surgical and related inpatient units
• Perform initial patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
• Implement and modify nursing interventions based on patient evaluation
• Maintain accurate documentation of nursing care and procedures
• Promote patient and staff safety by identifying and reporting hazards
• Communicate effectively with healthcare team members
• Float to Oncology, Orthopedic, Advanced Care, and ICU units as needed
• Precept and mentor nursing staff from various units
• Complete Unit Nurse Leader Training as required
• Participate in ongoing professional development and learning opportunities
• Coordinate care with multidisciplinary healthcare professionals
