Assistant Manager
The Assistant Manager supports all operational functions of the finest magic experience in Chicago, including staff management, food & beverage ordering and service, and background administrative functions. The AM will work with and report directly to the General Manager as well as collaborate with the Chicago Magic Lounge Leadership Team in matters relating to companywide policies.
Role and Responsibilities
· Uphold CML core values and policies, Including the history of Chicago style magic and commitment to excellence.
· Act as nightly Manager on Duty including leading pre-service team meetings, providing support and instruction to all hourly employees, and overseeing food and beverage service to all patrons.
· Manage the safe entry and exit of our guests for all performance areas.
· Personally ensure our guests have an elevated experience by performing table touches and anticipating solutions,
· Support GM with tip tracking and payroll, scheduling, shift integrity, timeliness, and employee accountability.
· Support supervision of hourly employees, including servers, bartenders and bar staff, kitchen staff and patron services associates.
· Provide motivational leadership to our operations staff, promoting honesty, integrity, and diversity.
· Mastery of our menu: ingredient, prep techniques, allergens, pairings, research & development, and implementation.
· Other duties as assigned.
Experience Requirements· At least 2 years of personnel management for a team of at least 25 people.
· At least 2 years of food & beverage management (may be concurrent with above).
· Experience with and passion for employee development.
Skills and Certifications· Mastery of Toast POS (experience required)
· Basset certification (required)
· Food Handling certification (required)
· First Aid Certified (preferred)
· Anti-Harassment Training (preferred)
· De-Escalation Training (preferred)
