Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to provide specialized instruction and support to middle school-aged students. This educator will work collaboratively with general education teachers to deliver co-taught instruction, support IEP implementation, and promote a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Ideal candidates demonstrate strong instructional skills, effective collaboration, and a commitment to helping students with diverse learning needs succeed academically and socially.

Assignment Details

• Start Date: ASAP

• End Date: End of School Year

• Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:45 AM - 2:55 PM

• Hours: 37.5 hours/week (30-minute unpaid break)

• Caseload: Up to 13 middle school students

• Instructional Model: Co-teaching in ELA and STEM classes

• Environment: In-person role

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized instruction aligned with IEP goals and student needs.

• Co-teach ELA and STEM classes in partnership with general education teachers.

• Utilize differentiated strategies to engage and support learners.

• Monitor, document, and report on student progress.

• Participate in IEP meetings, planning, and collaborative problem-solving.

• Maintain compliance with all applicable federal, state, and professional standards.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution (preferred).

• Valid Illinois teaching certificate with LBS1 endorsement required.

• At least one year of classroom or teaching experience (preferred).

• Knowledge of special education instructional practices and middle school learning needs.

• CPR certification, TB/PPD, and health documentation as required by state regulations.

• Must meet all federal, state, and local employment requirements.

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
