Bar Supervisor

1. Staff Management & Leadership

• Supervise bartenders and bar staff during shifts
• Train new employees on drink preparation, service standards, and POS systems
• Create and manage staff schedules to ensure proper coverage
• Provide ongoing coaching, performance feedback, and conflict resolution
• Maintain a positive, high-energy team environment

2. Operations & Service Execution

• Oversee daily bar operations to ensure smooth and efficient service
• Ensure drinks are prepared consistently and to standard
• Monitor speed of service, guest satisfaction, and overall flow of the bar
• Step in during high-volume periods to support staff behind the bar
• Handle guest complaints professionally and resolve issues quickly

3. Inventory & Product Management

• Track inventory levels of liquor, beer, wine, and bar supplies
• Conduct regular inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies
• Place and receive orders with vendors
• Minimize waste, spillage, and theft through proper controls
• Ensure proper storage and rotation of products

4. Financial & POS Responsibilities

• Manage cash handling procedures and drawer accountability
• Oversee opening/closing duties including cashouts and reports
• Monitor sales trends and identify opportunities to increase revenue
• Ensure accuracy in POS transactions and pricing updates

5. Compliance & Safety

• Ensure compliance with all local and state alcohol laws
• Verify proper ID checks and responsible alcohol service
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards behind the bar
• Enforce health and safety regulations

6. Menu & Beverage Program Support

• Assist in developing cocktail menus and seasonal drink features
• Train staff on new cocktails, ingredients, and upselling techniques
• Maintain knowledge of current beverage trends
• Ensure consistency in presentation and quality of all drinks

7. Customer Experience

• Create a welcoming and engaging bar atmosphere
• Build relationships with regular guests
• Promote specials, events, and featured cocktails
• Ensure high standards of hospitality at all times
