Responsibilities
In this role, you will engage in a variety of accounting and tax-related tasks, including but not limited to:

Tax Preparation and Review

• Prepare and review individual, partnership, and corporate tax returns, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
• Conduct research to address complex tax issues and develop effective client solutions.
• Assist with intermediate and advancedyear-end tax planningand strategies for individuals and businesses.
• Ensure accurate position documentation and develop well-written notes and memos for tax files.
• Demonstrate knowledge ofsales tax rules and compliance, preparing reports as required.

Client Service

• Maintain and strengthen client relationships by providing accurate, proactive, and timely communication.
• Confidently address client concerns by actively listening and providing thoughtful, practical solutions tailored to their needs.
• Cultivate trust and long-term partnerships with clients.

Business Development

• Identify cross-selling opportunities and communicate them to management.
• Assist in preparing new client proposals and actively participate in firm networking efforts.

Collaboration and Team Development

• Serve as a resource for junior staff, providing guidance and mentoring to build their expertise.
• Answer technical questions from staff and interns, fostering professional growth within the firm.
• Actively contribute to a positive, team-oriented culture.

Operational Excellence

• Manage project timelines and budgets to ensure completion within deadlines and financial expectations.
• Use firm software likeCCHorThomson Reuters to streamline workflows and enhance productivity.
• Maintain accurate time and project records in tracking software daily.

Technical Expertise

• Advise clients on intermediate to advanced tax and accounting issues, including business valuations.
• Demonstrate advanced proficiency in tax research tools and apply findings effectively.
• Use historical financial data to assess trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement.

Qualifications The ideal candidate will meet the following qualifications and bring a strong work ethic to the team:

• Education:Bachelors degree in accounting or related field (CPA or EA preferred but not required).
• Experience:Minimum of7+ yearsin tax preparation, review, and accounting.
• Proficiency in tax software, with experience inCCHorThomson Reutersbeing a strong plus.
• Knowledge ofpartnership returns, sales tax preparation, and financial statement reviews.
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) skills are a plus
• Interest or experience in business valuations is a strong advantage.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact effectively with clients and team members.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment.
