PCU RN Job Details – Decatur, IL

• Location: Decatur, IL 62526 (Central Illinois healthcare jobs)
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 8/25/2025 – End: 11/24/2025)
• Shift: 12-hour nights (18:00 – 06:30), 36 hours/week
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2000–$2050
• Unit: Cardiac Progressive Care Unit (20 beds, 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Charting System: Cerner
• Scrub Color: Royal blue
• Parking: Free with permit

PCU Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent experience as a PCU RN, IMC RN, or Stepdown Registered Nurse
• Active Illinois RN license (required at time of application)
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (AHA or Red Cross only)
• Strong skills in cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and advanced IV therapy
• Experience with cardiac drips, ventilator management, and post-cardiac intervention care
• Ability to float to other units within scope as needed
• Willingness to work 2 out of 3 major holidays if assignment overlaps

PCU RN Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to adult patients with cardiac, respiratory, and renal conditions
• Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias; obtain and interpret 12-lead EKGs
• Provide pre- and post-cardiac catheterization/intervention care
• Administer and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Manage ventilated patients, including BiPAP, CPAP, and high-flow nasal cannula
• Perform advanced IV therapy, including central/PICC line management and blood product administration
• Participate in rapid response/code blue situations and adhere to infection prevention protocols
• Float to other nursing units as needed within scope of practice
