Sr. Shop Safety Leads with Rivian Automotive, LLC in Normal, IL.

Responsible for technical Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) work to supports day-to-day EHS operations and operations of our internal and external customers. Responsible to protect Rivians people and the environment through managing EHS processes and procedures, assist with internal audit, drive engagement, communicate, and educate Team Members to ensure a safe and healthy workplace. Involve in the design and specifications for new machinery and equipment related to engineering and manufacturing sites. Work with engineering, operations and equipment vendors for design and commission activities. Develop equipment safety standards, improve existing standards, Complete Risk Assessments in accordance with ISO 12100, and Rivian standards. Identify opportunities, suggest corrective actions for continuous improvement, create and deliver training related to equipment and machinery safety. Work with department EHS staff to support shop, participate in learning teams, investigations, inspections, audits, and develop content for employee engagement on safety topics.\ \ RQMTS: Masters degree or foreign equivalent in Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Engineering, Risk Control and Safety Management, or a closely related field and 2 years [or a Bachelors degree or foreign equivalent as stated above and 5 years] of experience in any occupation as an EHS Engineer, EHS Specialist, or related. Experience must include working with automated manufacturing in a high-volume facility; equipment safety, risk assessments, and equipment commissioning; ANSI, UL, NFPA, and ISO standards; knowledge of hazardous area classifications, occupancy classification, and hazardous material inventories; utilizing API, ASME, and ASTM Standards; and using industrial hygiene devices for sample collection; and evaluation as per ACGIH, NIOSH standards. Salary Range: \$131,000 - \$132,000/yr.
