About the Job
CardioOne's practice, Midwest Cardiovascular Institute (MCI), is seeking an experienced Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join the office. As the Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will be responsible for delivering safe patient care during procedures in Nuclear Cardiology in the outpatient setting. You will work collaboratively with the RNs and MDs to promote wellness and optimize patient outcomes.
What you'll do:
Corroborates patient’s clinical history with procedure, assuring information is documented and available for use by a licensed practitioner.
Prepares patient for procedures: Providing instructions to obtain desired results, gains cooperation, and minimize anxiety.
In agreement with state statutes and/or where institutional policy permits, prepares, calculates, identifies and/or administers radio pharmaceuticals and/or medications as prescribed by a licensed practitioner, during rest and stress procedures.
Selects and operates radiation detection, imaging, and/or associated equipment to successfully perform procedures.
Position patient and equipment to best demonstrate the anatomic area of interest, respecting patient ability and comfort. Immobilize patients as required for appropriate examination.
Applies principles of radiation protection to minimize exposure to patient, self and others.
Evaluates images and data for technical quality, assuring proper identification is recorded.
Assumes responsibility for provision of physical and psychological needs of patients during procedures.
Understands methods and is capable of performing venipunctures and initiates basic life support action when necessary
Assist in staffing other clinics and departments when needed.
Performs other related duties as assigned and serves in whatever other capacity deemed necessary for successful completion of the mission and goals and in concordance with its patient philosophy.
What you'll need:
3+ years' experience is preferred.
PET preferred and SPECT required.
Graduate of a program in Nuclear Medicine Technology required.
State licensure in good standing required.
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Registered or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) Certified required.
Basic Life Support (ACLS preferred) required.
Excellent communication (both oral and written), interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Excellent computer skills
Full working knowledge of Nuclear Medicine equipment and Radiation Physics.
