Job Summary:

Join our team as a Document Processing Associate and play a vital role in preserving history. At Avenu, we partner with local governments to ensure important documents are safely archived and accessible for future generations. Your work will help safeguard records that tell the story of our communities, making sure that vital information is never lost. If you’re detail-oriented and passionate about protecting history, this role is for you. We’re looking for someone who enjoys working independently and can take pride in performing repetitive tasks with precision. The ideal candidate will be able to follow defined processes very carefully, maintain a strong focus on detail, and consistently meet production goals. Experience with photo editing or document scanning/archiving highly preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Primary job assignment will be editing/bitonal conversions of microfiche film, requiring a keen eye for detail and quality control.
• On-site document scanning, including but not limited to: moving and tracking originals to/from storage and scanning areas, prepping documents, and logging work.
• Use scanning equipment to image microfilm, loose sheets, and similar items; taking special care to get your settings accurate and occasionally troubleshooting equipment failure.
• Inventory tracking and indexing of original documents, regular use of excel required.
• Duties may also include file lookups using an electronic document management system.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

• High School or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of photo editing required including batch editing, balancing exposure, and bitonal conversions.
• Scanning/digitizing of records experience is desirable.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Must possess excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Willingness to take on new challenges.
• Must be reliable and responsible with a high attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to use a computer and software like Excel, Word, MS Teams
• Learn Avenu internal production systems proficiently.

Work Environment:

• You will be working in our customer’s County Building and must wear business casual clothes when on-site. Once trained and up to speed, this role has the potential for WFH.
• Always conduct yourself in a professional manner as you are representing Avenu.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate as the employee works in an office setting, at an individual work station, using telephone and computer.

Physical Demands:

• Lift up to 30 pounds.
• Must be able to remain in a stationary position for most of the day.
• Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a scanners.
• This position needs to occasionally move about inside the office.
• The person in this position frequently communicates via email and telephone.
