Maintenance And Reliability Engineer
A Maintenance and Reliability Engineer develops strategies and implements programs to minimize equipment failures, reduce downtime, and optimize asset performance through root cause analysis (RCA), predictive maintenance (PdM), preventative maintenance (PM) planning, focusing on risk management and cost reduction in operations. Key duties include analyzing failure data, creating maintenance standards, leading investigations, providing technical guidance to maintenance teams, and using data to improve system reliability and safety.
Key Responsibilities- Develop & Implement Strategies: Create and oversee preventative, predictive, and proactive maintenance plans
- Failure Analysis (RCA): Investigate equipment failures to find root causes and develop corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Risk Management: Identify and manage asset reliability risks that impact safety, environment, quality, and production.
- Data Analysis: Analyze maintenance data (from CMMS/EAM systems like SAP) to identify trends, prioritize assets, and improve work order efficiency.
- Asset Management: Manage the entire asset life cycle, from acquisition to disposal, focusing on long-term reliability and cost-effectiveness.
- Technical Guidance: Support maintenance technicians with complex diagnostics, provide training, and develop new standards.
- Improvement Projects: Lead projects to improve equipment design, modify processes, and implement new technologies (e.g., condition monitoring).
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- Experience: Proven experience in maintenance, reliability, or asset management in manufacturing or process industries.
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of maintenance management systems (CMMS/EAM), data analysis, statistical tools, and reliability methodologies (FMEA, RCA).
- Soft Skills: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills to work with cross-functional teams.
The role is set in a very heavy manufacturing environment and office. You will have the opportunity to work across the entire plant and multiple mills. The position offers a great opportunity to be part of a SWOT team that will tackle cost centers with the most opportunity for improvement and help bring an American steel mill back online to produce for years to come.
Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Peoria, IL. Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $60.00/hr.
